It’s been a looooooong while since I’ve posted. I apologize as life has had me pulled in other directions for the last year. But I’m getting back into the swing of things with Scatter Joy Designs & Photos and am thinking about my blog again. Here’s one of my latest designs. This is one I had been pondering for a long while. I paired some of my flower photography and with the proclaimed fruits of the spirit from scripture Galatians 5:22-23:

2016 has been a year full of plans and preparations. My husband and I intend to leave our current home in the Bay Area, California and start anew somewhere else next month. We don’t know where we’re going yet but we have faith the plans will come together.
Last week was the 20th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch Exhibit at The Palo Alto Art Center – one of the highlights of my Autumn Season!
Summer was a very busy time for my husband and me! Due to a big project at work, I was constantly busy and falling behind with my to-do list and my dear hubby was struggling to balance full-time work along with full-time school! There was rarely any downtime to enjoy summer and when we finally got a day off together, we were too tired to do anything beyond rest.
My church, Highway Community, has a very unique tradition: Every first Sunday in August, we celebrate National Mustard Day. However, we take our celebration to the extreme by hosting our annual wiener dog race event aka The Wiener Nationals. What began with only a few Wiener Dogs racing amidst an ordinary church BBQ has morphed into the Wiener-Dog-Event-of-the-Season/BBQ/Fun Day attracting Dachshund Lovers from all over the Bay Area.
A few weeks ago, I had a super fun time visiting a friend’s garden!
I was left completely in awe of all the life and colors within – it was simply stunning! Every inch of the yard had some fascinating flower in bloom and I was mesmerized for over an hour taking photos of almost every inch. I could have easily been there all day and still been amazed!!! Filoli is one of my FAVORITE places to go photograph! So when they have extended hours and are open even later to the public, I try my best to make a visit.
I’ve been having a lot of fun taking photos of people lately!
When I first got into photography, I thought that in order to become a better photographer, I had to master portrait photography which at the time scared me to death! So I got a job at JC Penney Portrait Studio and began taking tons of photos of families, babies, little kids, and just masses and masses of people. Sadly in the whole experience, I learned really quick that taking photos that way took away my passion for photography. So I quit that job and for a very long time refrained from taking people photographs. I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of my life so when I discovered the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden earlier this month – I was MORE than delighted!!!!!! I love beautiful gardens and who doesn’t love roses!!?! So this was a wonderful discovery for me!!!!
