It’s been a looooooong while since I’ve posted. I apologize as life has had me pulled in other directions for the last year. But I’m getting back into the swing of things with Scatter Joy Designs & Photos and am thinking about my blog again. Here’s one of my latest designs. This is one I had been pondering for a long while. I paired some of my flower photography and with the proclaimed fruits of the spirit from scripture Galatians 5:22-23:

Something I have been doing more of recently is creating Scripture Pictures.
A scripture picture is just a photo paired with a Bible verse or scripture passage. Super plain and simple yet difficult to create! I love creating them because they are good practice for my photography and graphic design skills. And in creating them, the scripture passage I work with totally comes to life in a richer way than just reading over it in my Bible. I’m taking a photographic portfolio development class right now and it has been so inspiring!!! It is such food for my photography-loving soul! For some time now, I have been kind of stuck with my photography and not sure how to keep going and growing. I have all these photos that I love so dearly, but I’m not sure what to do with them or how to share them with others. So I am so thankful for this class because it is teaching me how to get unstuck and keep moving forward through the practice of setting goals. This class is teaching me the importance of goals – not just one or two far fetched life goals, but the importance of numerous small measurable goals for keeping you moving forward toward over-arching life goals. Fall is such a beautiful time with trees glowing in brilliant reds, golden yellows, and bright oranges. I absolutely love to watch the changing leaves this time of year. Ordinary trees become awesome spectacles and everyone can’t help to stop what they’re doing and admire their changing beauty. It is a fleeting season though and when it’s over, I’m sad. There are no leaves for several months when the long dark winter takes over. Every year, I feel the same bittersweet love for fall – I love the majestic leaves but I don’t want them ever to fall!
Often times, I find it hard to be content. Little things will become great obstacles in my constant quest to be content. It’s sad that with so many blessings, I forget to feel blessed. Today on the radio, I heard something that caught my attention. I looked for it online afterwards because I wanted to include it word for word, but it was nowhere to be found. It said something like…
I was inspired one day to share that which inspires me and keeps me going as an artist in both graphic design and photography. I know how important inspiration is – I feel dead without inspiration – that is how important it is to me! So I decided to create a blog to capture what every day little things keep me going and stay inspired. For my first post I wanted to share what motivated me to go into graphic design and photography from the very beginning. I felt God leading me to it and then He gave me this quote and photo that became his promise to me: |
