​It’s always good to take a moment and look back at your progress. As we finish 2013 and begin a new year, I feel inclined to do just that – to take stock of what was completed and how effective it was. I am thankful to say that 2013 was a very exciting year for me both with Scatter Joy Designs & Scatter Joy Photos. Many projects were completed, many relationships were made or strengthened, and overall I feel satisfied with my work. Not only am I satisfied – I am proud of it and the part I played!

​A little less than a year ago, I first sat down with Skip Vaccarello to talk to him about his idea for a new blog website. Immediately, I was impressed by the vision of his project: writing inspirational stories about how God is working in the Silicon Valley. After a few short meetings with Skip in which I taught him the basics of blogging on wordpress and how to set up a site, he was ready to go! ​This is a big day for my family! It’s my dad’s birthday and he is now 70!!! Unfortunately for us, he is not one to enjoy parties and big celebrations. He would rather crawl into a hole than endure being the spotlight. So my family and I had to get real creative and figure out another way to celebrate this big milestone.

​​This has been quite an exciting month for my family and me! After a long wait and much hard work, my mom Judy Squier’s newest book “Living in the Names of God: His Majesty and Me” is now available.

​I don’t normally like to review something you have to pay for, but I can’t help myself from sharing about The Martha Stewart CraftStudio App for the iPad. It is such a fabulous card making app that anyone who likes to create things should know about.

​Growing up, my family didn’t have many mandatory traditions – but there was one that we daughters knew we couldn’t mess with – our Annual Christmas Card tradition. Pre-children, my parents birthed the tradition of creating their own unique hand-made Christmas cards complete with a family photo and a Christian message. Without question my two older sisters and I were destined to participate in this process.

​I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to assist Yours2Name.com with some work on their website and facebook page. It has definitely been a fun company to work with! Yours2Name.com is run solely by its founder Beth Rutherford. With almost 40 years of embroidery experience, she is quite the expert when it comes to personalizing goodies. She has picked out almost all of the products and is constantly coming up with new ideas for making the personalized products extra special.

My husband, Andrew, and I got married exactly one year ago today! It really was a JOYFUL day! Everything I had imagined came together beautifully thanks to so many blessed vendors, friends, and family members. So when it came to making my wedding album, I knew it had to be good! I also had the added pressure that I am a graphic designer, so I felt like not only did it have to be good, it had to be REALLY good! So several months after the wedding, I began the quest of designing the perfect wedding album.

​I had the opportunity to design a book cover for a book called Vapors by Paulette Harris. Initially, when I was approached to do the project and learned that the book was about the End Times, I really had no idea how I was going to go about it. However, after a few conversations with the author and a little brainstorming, something quickly came together in in my mind. Paulette, the author, had wanted to use some imagery from NASA (perfect considering I had had an internship there) and she had mentioned the story being set in The Holy Land. So I went from there and after constructing a quick mock-up and e-mailing it to Paulette, it became very clear that we were both on the same page! We had a design for her book cover!
