Recently I had the exciting opportunity to work with Lauren Goodkind on her new chess website! Lauren Goodkind is a one-of-a-kind chess player and teacher! She has been playing since age 8 and has been a victor in numerous chess tournaments over the years. Now determined to build a career out of her passion for chess, Lauren hired me to help her make a website.

With great excitement, I am very happy to announce that the Finding God in Silicon Valley Book & Study Guide/Workbook are finally here! It has been a LONG journey for the author, Skip Vaccarello, who has been pursuing the idea of writing this book for several years!
Today is a very special day! My dear Mama, Judy Squier, is now 70 years old!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Mama Mia! I can not believe it – how time flies! Yet you are so young at heart and have so much life you – I know that turning 70 is just a tiny stepping stone in this life you are living! This last year, I have had the privilege of doing some website/design work for the Silicon Valley Prayer Breakfast (SVPB). SVPB is an amazing group of Christian individuals who host breakfasts throughout the year. These breakfasts are open to anyone for the purpose of sharing the gospel, inspiring each other in their work endeavors, and providing a place for networking. There are quarterly breakfasts which tend to be small events and then there is an annual breakfast every March which is a pretty big deal!
It’s hard to believe that another year has already come and gone! Time is flying more and more quickly the older I get! It was a good year and there were definitely some fun projects along the way. Here is a tribute to some of the work that was done by Scatter Joy Designs!
Something I have been doing more of recently is creating Scripture Pictures.
A scripture picture is just a photo paired with a Bible verse or scripture passage. Super plain and simple yet difficult to create! I love creating them because they are good practice for my photography and graphic design skills. And in creating them, the scripture passage I work with totally comes to life in a richer way than just reading over it in my Bible. This summer I have been working on a fun project! Before I can share more about it though – let me go back to the beginning . . .
Like most girls, I have always loved flowers.
Flowers are so fun and joyful and just plain beautiful! I can’t seem to get enough of them especially when photographing. And as a general rule if I ever need something to brighten my day – I usually turn to flowers! (My husband has learned this simple truth as well!) Alas – after a few very busy months – we have finally reached the end of another book project – Living in the Names of God Bible Study is joyfully complete! It was quite a journey! Judy Squier, the author (and my mom!) and I have worked together on two books previously: His Majesty in Brokenness and Living in the Names of God. As standard chapter books, they were both pretty straight forward and simple to lay out. So creating a Bible Study was a whole different creature for mom, me and her amazing editor Amy Mayfield. Typography is something I love to play with. It’s amazing how fonts can come to life when they are artfully displayed! Recently, I had a fun typography design project – to create Note Cards based off of the 18 Hebrew names of God in my mom, Judy Squier’s, latest book: Living in the Names of God. I wanted to complement the cover image of her book so I echoed the colors and fonts. I then used moo.com to print them. Moo.com is fabulous because you can have up to 25 different images within the same printing order. Perfect for a project like this!! I liked how they came out so much, I decided to share the designs here! Enjoy! |
