Carmel-by-the-Sea, a place of artistic inspiration!

​I feel truly blessed to live in California’s beautiful Bay Area. We have such great weather almost year-round and there are so many beautiful places to visit nearby. For my birthday weekend, I wanted to go somewhere extra special and so when it came to deciding on where to go it didn’t take me long to decide on Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Carmel-by-the Sea is one of the most artistic, whimsical, charming towns I have ever been to! It is truly a community for artists with a downtown full of galleries. The quaint thatch roof shops and restaurants between the galleries all have their own unique character that draw you toward them. Despite the cool winter weather, the town is still bursting with flowers in gardens, window boxes, and creeping up from any cracks or crevices. The beautiful California coast is within walking distance and there is such a gorgeous drive down Highway 1 for any takers. So it is no wonder that I left full with inspiration even after a short visit.

I snapped a ton of photos while we were there and here are just a few of my favorites.

​Before we left, we visited Carmel’s Mission. I had never been there before so it was neat to check out. I was impressed by the pure beauty and Spanish elegance of it. As I walked across the grounds, it felt like I was walking back in time when California was first being established. It had a real timeless beauty that had me captivated.

​If you ever get a chance to visit Carmel-by-the-Sea, I hope you do because I know you’ll leave feeling a whole lot richer with the joy you gain by visiting it!
